The Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights’ Communications Coordinator, Jeremy Wiener.
Jeremy Wiener is the Communications Coordinator at the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights, having joined in June 2018.
Jeremy has sought to address society’s socio-economic inequities, a purpose which led him to volunteer both abroad and at home. In Paris, Jeremy volunteered at SciencesPo Refugee Help assisting recently arrived refugees at Porte de la Chapelle with integrating into society. This included helping refugees pursue employment opportunities, find accommodations, and apply for refugee status. While in Paris, Jeremy also contributed to the cause of Solidarité Jean Merlin helping the chronic and transitional homeless get back up on their feet. Closer to home, he volunteers at the Christian Vachon Foundation, an organization dedicated to giving children equal opportunity to achieve their educational goals.
As an academic, Jeremy researches and writes on matters relating to political theory and international relations. He has focused particularly on the nexus between intergenerational justice, climate change and our duty to reform international refugee law; Canadian-Sino bilateral relations; and the so-called ‘New Middle-East Cold War’ being fought between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
Jeremy is currently a student of Political Science at Queen’s University entering his final year of studies. Thereafter, he is interested in pursuing international law.
