The Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights’ Executive Director, Judith Abittan.
Judith Abitan is the Executive Director of the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights, since its inception in 2015. Prior to joining the Raoul Wallenberg Centre, Judith served as Chief of Staff to the Honourable Irwin Cotler - former Member of Parliament and Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada - who now Chairs the RWCHR. From 2013 to 2014, she served as a Foreign Law Clerk to the President and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Israel. From 2010 to 2012, she headed the parliamentary office of the Honourable Irwin Cotler when he was Liberal Justice and Human Rights Critic.
Judith’s work has included extensive research and policy analysis, and she has devoted special attention to issues of international justice and political prisoner cases.
Judith obtained a Bachelor of Commerce with a double concentration in International Business and Marketing and a Public Relations Management Certificate from McGill University; a Bachelor of Civil Law from Université de Montréal; and a Master of Laws in International Business and Trade Law from Fordham University. She was also a Graduate Fellow editor of the Fordham International Law Journal.
